This was reported by inmates, relatives, and other sources. Many are asking for the facility to close after these horrible details were reported. One county jail inmate who was beaten while handcuffed and had both ankles broken after being repeatedly struck by a group of deputies with their flashlights. Then a sex offender in the jail was purposely placed him in the population of all, and as a result, he was beaten by fellow inmates to the point that he passed uncontrollable bowel movements. Mary Tiedman, one of the report’s authors, stated she regularly sees prisoners with black eyes, broken bones, and boot marks on prisoners’ bodies, trying to indicate the injuries were caused by jail guards, who are the only people in the jail permitted to wear hard shoes.

Why Do Police Abuse Their Authority?

There is No actual answer to why they do it. But what can be said is that many civilians are tired of it and want it to stop. Many civilians came out to rally against the Kentucy Police Department after they shot and killed an African American male by the name of James Taylor. He was shot 11 times while he was in handcuffs in February 2003. Police tend to get away with things such as this because those who are apart of the government is to weak to take a stand. There are many cases where Police Officers have shot and killed innocent people and are easily acquitted. So There is the answer I guess. They abuse their authority because there isn't anyone powerful enough to convict them.

What is "Police Misconduct"?

I'm intrested in this topic because there are a lot of corruption going on surrounding the cops and i think that it is unjust to the people that those who are suppose to be protecting us are the one who are harming us.

Police misconduct refers to inappropriate actions taken by police officers in connection with their official duties. Police misconduct can lead to a miscarriage of justice and sometimes involves discrimination. In an effort to control police misconduct, there is an accelerating trend for civilian agencies to go beyond review to engage directly in investigations and to have much greater input into disciplinary decisions.

Police Misconduct is refered to when police officers abuse there rights as cops. They also refer to this as inappropriate behavior from the cops that are suppose to protect the people. Cops normally put shame on the justice system as well as the police force. As civilians Police Misconduct causes riots, seperation of civilians and the justice system. It also cause The people to not trust the justice system or look to them for help.
